The Providence College women's tennis team traveled to Albany, N.Y. on Saturday, February 16 to take on the University at Albany. The undefeated Great Danes proved to be too tough a match for the Friars, sweeping them 7-0.

Two of the most competitive matches on the day came in the No. 1 and 3 doubles positions. In the No. 1 spot, freshman Avery Gibson (Fairfield, Iowa) and sophomore Dara Hawkins-Hodgson (South Euclid, Ohio) dropped to Albany's Aimee Kern and Susan Ma, 8-5. In the No. 3 spot, freshmen Ayushi Sinha (Mumbai, India) and Kim Betzner fell to Kim Weltmen and Charlotte Tatler, 8-6.

The Friars return to action on Friday, March 7 when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on Seton Hall University at the U.S. Military Academy. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
